WoltLab Suite 3.1 Beta 3 Download

Jul 17, 2017
Unlike IPB or XF, WoltLab makes their betas free to use by everyone, even if you are not a customer. This opens the door to giving everyone the opportunity to report bugs and provide feedback, as well as giving folks the opportunity to freely review the code and freely try WoltLab on their own private setup.

Introducing WoltLab Suite 3.1, the definite answer for community-driven websites and forums.

System Requirements
WoltLab Suite 3.1 requires the following prerequisites to install and run the software:

  • Webserver with PHP 5.5.4 or newer
  • MySQL 5.5.35 (or newer) / MariaDB 5.5.47 (or newer) / MariaDB 10.0.22 (or newer)
  • 20 MB free disk space
  • Current Webbrowser (Chrome 62+, Firefox 56+, Safari 11, Internet Explorer 11 / Microsoft Edge 40+ [EdgeHTML 15+])
Installation Guide
  1. Download the installation archive onto your computer.
  2. Extract the archive.
  3. Upload the files install.php, test.php and WCFSetup.tar.gz onto your webserver.
  4. Start the installation by navigating with your webbrowser to the test.php.
Updating from earlier versions
This beta version explicitly does not support updating from previous versions of our software. Update support will be added with future releases.

Usage and Support
This evaluation version is not suitable for use in production environments, doing so is entirely at your own risk. An update from WoltLab Suite 3.1 Beta 3 to future versions is not guaranteed. You may use this version until February 1st 2018, if you wish to continue past this date, a valid license for the respective app (e. g. WoltLab Suite Forum 5.1) is required.

Very cool of them. I might just have to play around with it. I've always wanted a license, could never justify it though.
The core of WoltLab which contains the CMS is free all the time. So if you wanted a create your webpage using WoltLab, that's one way you can test things out past the Beta stages.

The things you have to pay for are the apps which are: Forum, Gallery, Blogs and Files. I think you get the calendar free. But with the Beta you get to try all the apps for free until February. So, now is a good time to give WoltLab's software a try if you fancy it, without forking out a penny.

I have the forum software and can't make out if the gallery would be relevant to me or not.
