I've seen nobody defending anything, or taking any "side" particularly not southernlady. She made her decision known about whether she would do any future business with DBT, and the answer for her is no. What else do you want out of her? She's not "siding with pedophiles" at all. Far from it.

I’m not coddling him but I am also not going to tar and feather him, quarter him and then feed him to the alligators. He’s being punished by the legal system and by losing business he might have kept if he had not made a bad choice. He did and he is paying for it.

One thing this thread has done sucessful is add transparency to peoples moral compass.

It seems to me this thread is full of conjecture and very light on facts.

I've kept my opinions to myself despite some outrageous and unwarranted suggestions that the staff here are somehow complicit in giving support to a morally repugnant crime and/or its perpetrator.

Factually the defendant, Fillip Hannisdal pleaded guilty to having illegal pictures of children ranging from category A (the most serious) to category C. These comprised of 170 still pictures, 50 moving and 163 images depicting depicting sexual activity involving people and animals.

Fillip and his two co-defendants were sentenced by Sheriff Peter McCormack in the Glasgow Sheriff Court to a Community Pay Back Order with supervision for three years as a direct alternative to custody. They were also handed a Restriction of Liberty Order which requires them to remain at home between the hours of 7pm and 7am for 6 months. Further ordered was a requirement all three men attend a behavioural programme and restrictions were placed on their Internet use.

In addition all three men were placed on the Sex Offenders' Register for three years and none of them may have unsupervised contact with children under the age of 16.

The parts highlighted are information I believe may not have been posted here. If any of this is factually incorrect Fillip H. can correct me.

On a more speculative note, while I am not directly a customer of DragonByte Technologies, if I were, I would have questions to ask. I'd certainly want to know how my data was stored and the likelihood that it has been subjected to police forensic analysis. I'm not suggesting that there's anything anyone needs to worry about but I believe it wiser to be informed.

Apparently long ago I did register at their forum but never bought anything. I was looking for something else in my email and happened across one they sent out basically asking if I had "fallen off the planet and if I lost my password, to click "here" to recover it". I'm not worried about any sensitive information being on their computers.

But if I had, I would be wondering the same thing about personal data. I don't care if you have nothing to hide, just having police looking can make one concerned. I'm one with nothing to hide but I do not put my private life out on the internet either.

I certainly am not coddling him. I take the offense seriously, and noted earlier I won't do further business with him. I also notified one of my clients who uses their products, apprised them of the situation. Though I couldn't tell them what decision they should make, I told them what I have done, and they have decided the same - no further business.

If you look through all of the comments from all of the members in this thread, you won't find a single one that thinks Filip is innocent of a crime.
What that crime is, well we all know the basis of what Filip pleaded guilty for (which has been pasted in this thread several times over).

What members are taking offence at, (myself included) is a minority of members adding slander and conjecture to the known facts.
Was it hentai (and all its illegal flavours)? Was it child pornography of human children? Was it Snow White and the Seven Dwarves pornography?

We do not know. Filip knows, and the arresting law enforcement officers know, but we do not.
We can take Filip's word at it being hentai. Or not, and refer to the information available that he pleaded guilty to.

It's that simple.

I have read all posts in this topic and 2 things are blowing my mind. How Philip went on about having only hentai images and all that crap and how many users are believing that **** and feel sorry for a convicted pedo.

It was clear to me after reading online about the case that it was not a matter of hentai images like that pedo wants us to believe, but there were images and films of real children being abused which made me feel literally sick in my stomach. If he was not guilty then he should have fought tooth and nail to protect his name and integrity, but instead he plead guilty and he makes it as if he had no choice on the matter, as his solicitor adviced him that way. That is a bunch of bollocks and we all know it.

And a lot of users here, including a couple of xenforo staff sympathise with the pedo. Prior to this I was looking into XenForo and planned to buy a couple of license, but now no way I will buy it. Some of the posts by Chris and Slavik disgusted me.
