Something strange with the new posts count and the served results

The numbers of new posts doesn't jive with the results.

I saw that too and I figure it's just that the 'marked as read' data isn't in-synch, so for myself, I just marked the forums as read and them number has been consistent after that.

I don't recall if there were using database marking or cookie marking for read items before...

EDIT: Of course, after I said that... when I went back out -- there were '5' new posts on the navbar but 4 showing in the list. (so, nvm, sort of... lol)

The results are shown as threads, the new posts are contained within them. And there's that but that's already been mentioned if the numbers still don't add up.

Not sure if it was like that on AE to be honest, but the number should be representative of newest unread posts in threads, which is what the search results show. Not all new posts. That is probably where the discrepancy comes from.

Now looking at another forum with this addon, it looks like it is normal operation. So, nevermind.
