ElkArte's site is even more susceptible to DDoS attacks, as MyBB is on two dedicated servers, if I remember correctly.
MyBB usually ends up blocking the IPs at a higher layer to deal with the problem.

MyBB's always getting DDoSed, they just end up banning the IPs, so you can't see it, if I remember correctly.

No, the site is currently down due to issues with server load, possibly due to a DDoS attack (as noted above). Chris will hopefully be able to mitigate it soon.

Yes, blocking the IPs is the only solution that we have. We already use CloudFlare premium to try and mitigate low level attacks too.

Unfortunately we seem to be a bit of a common target, possibly because of sites such as HackForums using the software.

Something about Labrocca's forums breed immaturity.
Cloudflare can't help about Layer 7 DDOS attacks.
I already tried it.

Yeah, we also have a hardware fireball in place. CloudFlare is just an extra level of protection rather than the only service we utilise.
