You could do it in the past, I've done it a number of times but I suspect you will now have licensing problems with Windows.

The new pc would need a new confermation of the license as long as that is done you should be fine.

According to the research I've done since I lasted posted in this thread that's only the case if Windows was purchased as a full-packaged product from a retail store. It doesn't apply to OEM versions which are married to the hardware they were originally installed on.

It also depends whether your computer is using UEFI and Secure Boot too. Changing configurations like that too will trip a whole bunch of alarms.

You have another license called "systembuilder" its a license that you are responsible for support that one you can transfer between systems.
