The IPS app will do the same, and with far more functionality than Tapatalk.

It's free to push your site into the app, and white label upgrades will be available later.
I was suggesting Tapatalk as it isn’t just IPS and is a gateway to Tapatalk Groups as a venue for finding active forums. But the sentiment is valid.

I may not be the “coder/designer” group but I could write an app from scratch if I really wanted. Wouldn’t come cheap though.

The Tapatalk you recommended has 10 million downloads anything next to it would look like a cheap imitation, not a critique on your skills thinking what it looks like
Unless Tapatalk is not supplying a need which seems doubtful 10 million ways
A 80% share would have been your fee

Ok back to the beginning...
A new forum political themed with discourse, side campaigns for users to elevate themselves with votes, polls to moderator position
Moderators would have either serve terms or contracts, thinking two years term with a maximum of four or 6/12 month contracts

I will add the three forums I have used can't speak for TAZ have been majority Liberal moderated leading to bias, discrimination and segregation
Too many ingredients in one place is not balance neither is it fair
I would suggest a moderation team mostly made up of 50% Conservative 50% Liberal at best like a perfect coffee

Number of downloads is not inherently a barometer of quality. Also, I'd note that you know nothing about me, or indeed any apps I have worked on.

That said, I suggested Tapatalk to you on the basis that you wanted to find active communities and it would give you a holistic view of many forums that are active to join because that was what you have asked for in this thread.

I would also note that there are a good many more than 3 political forums out on the internet, but I don't believe any exist that follow the model you are proposing and very quickly any charismatic characters will bring their friends along to skew such voting.

If you want to do a political forum, I would suggest that your model for how such a forum would work will end poorly; if people can be voted into positions of power, it will mirror the political spectrum where people will vote for popular candidates rather than necessarily who would do a good job. And you can assume people will try to politicise things for their own ends rather than yours.

Can you be more specific? Please link some examples of 'Liberal moderation' which have lead to 'bias, discrimination and segregation'. These are serious accusations which I can assure you will not be taken lightly if true.

My last forum mostly caught up in the rise of Socialism it went beyond stupid with their witch hunt on conservatives, left it all behind moved on
I am not having a go at them, I am asking if certain things could be done better with any forum like that with a unbalanced moderator team

The answer to that is probably no.

The "rise of socialism" has been going on a lot longer than the last few years, especially here in Europe where things like universal healthcare (a fundamentally 'socialist' concept) are standard. I'd also note that 'the witch-hunt on conservatives' has a nasty habit of simply holding people accountable for what they say, because freedom to say what you like does not imply a freedom from the consequences of saying things that others might find offensive.

The fact that we are discussing things in emotive terms such as 'beyond stupid' and 'witch hunt' suggests to me that the only acceptable moderation policies to you are the ones that implicitly agree with your standpoint and that the contrary view is, really, far from welcome.

Also, this thread is all over the place....

"can anyone recommend a forum?"
"i might buy a forum"
"can you code apps from scratch?"
"i want a forum app ecosystem"
"no sites suggested with 500+ users? We're doomed!"

What?!?
We can now add to the list of subjects in this thread.

  1. "can anyone recommend a forum?"
  2. "i might buy a forum"
  3. "can you code apps from scratch?"
  4. "i want a forum app ecosystem"
  5. "no sites suggested with 500+ users? We're doomed!"
  6. Politics new!
  7. Moderation styles new!

😕
