Im starting up xtreem at the end of this month or start of next month.
Was just wondering if it would be enough just to add my sites to as many search engines i can find ?

I do not want to put any banners and stuff on the site or forum unless they are realy relay small =)

Its a forum community about tv shows like buffy. angel. and so on.

Its not like i can go and post on other buffy forums and say i have a buffy forum to come to mine instead.

What I'd do is each forum you frequent, put a small, clickable link in your sig file (similar to mine below), nothing to bodacious or gawdy, just something advertising the site, or even a small banner will help too. If you have the resources a pay-per-click like GoClick or Kanoodle will work too, but be prepared to shell out $25 minimum (50 at Kanoodle) each time you activate it.

Definately not !!! You can try google adword also, which can get relatively targetted traffic.

If you're going to be spending that kind of money, then Adwords and Overture would be the way to go, Overture shows their ads on Major sites like CNN, Yahoo, MSN among others, and Google is well, Google.

Go Click you can add keywords just like you would a regular search engine, it has an option to enter as many keywords as are relevant to your site, and each time someone searches Go Click under that or similar keywords, they'll see your site, depending on the bid you make for positioning, it could be #1. But it will only be shown for as long as you are funded.

submitting your site to search engines is (almost) worthless. Working much better than submissions, try getting incoming links to your site from relevant sites. While you can put your link in your sig in related forums (which is a direct traffic bringer), you may contact the owners of content only sites related to yours and offer them a link exchange, or suggest them to add a link to your site if you don't have a links section.
