External hard drives

What are you guys packing? And how well do you like what you have?

I desperately need more space so I'm seeking recommendations. I've heard horror stories about the Western Digitals and Toshiba externals, hp sounds decent... any words?

I have a 3TB Seagate external drive which I really like with excellent power management and very silent.

When I need to go mobile, I use a trusty Western Digital Passport and haven't had any problems with it despite having it for many years now.

Most of these are built in the same factories anyway.

A habit I pick up from my workplace... I don't use external hard drive anymore. I use docking bay.

This way I know, and can choose, the quality of the drive myself. Green for etc, red/black or even enterprise for important data.

I've been using Western Digital drives since my Seagate crapped out on me a couple of years back. Don't have any complaints myself.

I'm using a Seagate GoFlex drive 1tb Very happy with it. It's about 2/3 full so I might start looking for something new. Originally it was usb 2 which I later upgraded the adapter to usb 3. Handy thing.

1TB WD USB3. It's small and nice, with no separate power supply.
