I just installed Stylebot on Chrome and setup a rule to target the avatars on every site that satisfies the CSS rule

And then set it back to two pixels

border-radius: 2px;
}

Now all XF2 sites are finally back to squares!

Square for me. Some time the important part is hide.

Definitely sqquares. It is basic artistic knowledge that circles do not and can not accurately frame a picture and should never be used as such. I'm actually not sure what the current obsession with circle avatars is all about. If you like it, that's perfectly okay! I'm just not sure why all the big social media sites are switching to circles even in the midst of so much protest about it and against it.

I guess it depends on what's in the avatar. I'm used to squares but can do the circles.

Anime forums allow wallpaper/desktop-background sized avatars, so those sites use square.
