Hopefully Threadloom runs this mboard a lot better then the newer owners of WHT. That place is pretty dead now.....

Dead? They've had 100 active threads in the last 24 hours --- not exactly dead

Maybe they should break down and convert away from vbulletin --

Used to be a lot more way back when. But we can blame the mobile, FB and other avenues some use now.

Actually - that last question had me look at your site again, do you guys provide your products for Invision?
I'd love for them to integrate into the Invision suite. Smart newsletters and better search are two pain points. In fact, in the past week, the suggestion of smarter newsletters came up in three different topics in the IPS client forums.

Still somewhat off topic but anyway... although Web Hosting Talk is using EOL vBulletin software with what appears to be the default skin, it actually works really well on a mobile. The bottom line; if it works for you and your users, and it's secure, why rock the boat?

I remember them using the vB 3 series for the longest time after 4 came out.

Interesting. Discourse have had a very nice integrated newsletter for quite a long time now.

Yes, sorry if it wasn’t clear. Threadloom owns TAZ.

I enjoyed your time over the years. Sometimes changes have to happen to fulfill the quests. Which that happens a lot especially big businesses change hands, it sucks at times especially when you been around the same people for years then they change but depending on the change can be great or flop but as for this I have no doubt it will be a great change for the good.

While the site seems to be very responsive, and I'd love to hear what you guys have done to make it so dang snappy. I am also seeing a bit of an issue.

There doesn't seem to be a URL preference set. By that I mean http://theadminzone.com, https://theadminzone.com, http://www.theadminzone.com, and https://www.theadminzone.com all seems to respond and not redirect to one standard URL. Which makes logging in and staying logging in fun.

Speaking of logging in. Until I logged in using HTTP (not S), I kept getting a forum warning about not able to log in until I accept cookies, even though I did click okay on the notice at the bottom.

Worth noting that XF has an option to "Enable board URL canonicalization". With that enabled, visitors who reach the forum on any of the URL variants noted above, will get redirected to your actual configured "Board URL" automatically.

Of course it can be done with some fairly basic server-side redirects too. Either way, you should do it to ensure a consistent experience for your users and avoid potential complications with search engines crawling all variants of the URLs independently.
