I did, and actually went back to see what I'd missed in post #1. The question isn't answered there?
Sure it is.

Member "\o/" in post #93 asked:

"I noticed that the ToS for TAZ are gone. The link to "terms and rules" leads to the license for the Threadloom software."

If post #1 is read carefully...it states:

"One of the biggest changes is who will be at the helm of The Admin Zone. After 16 years I've decided to take the next step and pass the reigns to Paul and the gang at Threadloom."

This clearly explains ownership of TAZ has changed (approximately 7 months ago)...and the new owners are Threadloom.

Member "\o/" has been a TAZ member since April 2018 (before the TAZ ownership change)...and member "\o/" may have been familiar with the previous TAZ ToS and Rules. When member "\o/" posted their question in July, 2020 (7 months after the TAZ ownership change)...member "\o/" may not have been aware of the TAZ ownership change...and thus the different ToS (Threadloom ToS).

My post asking member "\o/" to read post #1 of the thread...would bring attention to this ownership change...and therefore explain why the current TAZ ToS is different from what member "\o/" may have been used to seeing previously...and explain why the current TAZ ToS is Threadloom related.

I see your logic now.

In my experience, Rules are separate & different from ToS, so I was specifically looking for "rules".

With the ownership change, the ToS (posting rules) for TAZ were replaced by ToS for the Threadloom software (which I refuse to use, so they don’t apply to me). Nobody has confirmed nor denied that the old TAZ rules remain in effect yet.

Again...why so concerned about "rules"? Are you planning on doing something that's normally considered unacceptable on most internet forums?

Maybe the new TAZ owners (Threadloom)...thought the TAZ membership was mature enough to proceed without a strict set of rules (since many/most of us are forum Admins or website owners).

If you remember the "old TAZ" rules well...maybe you could post a question regarding something specific for the TAZ Staff to address/answer. Otherwise...I'm sure if you post something unacceptable...a TAZ staff member will step in.:)

I would prefer to know what the current owners consider acceptable. I hate negative surprises.
Are you new to internet forums...and not sure what is & is not normally acceptable? If this is the case...than I 100% understand your question. But if you're a long time or relatively long time internet forum user...then I find it very confusing why so much concern regarding TAZ rules.

I can tell you unnecesary cursing...flaming...trolling...spamming...porn...propositioning...bullying...repeatedly being argumentative...etc...are common behaviors not acceptable on many forums.

If you were planning on doing one or more of these things on TAZ...to be safe...I would advise DON'T!:)

Normally acceptable is not exactly a safe term. Example: In a forum for gun owners, you probably shouldn’t advocate gun restriction - vice versa,

This very likely wouldn't have anything to do with forum rules...advocating gun control on a gun owner forum would probably only result in a VERY unpopular discussion topic. Although (of course)...a Gun Owner forum owner could make it a rule (if they wanted to)...that there would be no anti-gun related topics on their forum.

To bring things more into the context of this site (TAZ)...what are you concerned about that you might do or discuss that would violate anything here at TAZ?

If you cannot come up with any examples that's ok.:) Enjoy yourself posting & participating in threads...and if you do something wrong/unacceptable...I'm sure some "spunky" members will call you out on it...and/or a TAZ Staff member will step in.:)

I'm pretty sure what \o/ is asking if in case of Threadloom having a different set of rulesets for their forums (now this one) than the previous owners. It's not about not wanting to make sure they don't break any rules or not. It's about seeing if something the previous owners thought were unacceptable that Threadloom think is just fine to post about and vice versa.

TAZ has been "chugging" along for about 7 months now under new ownership...and all has been fine (we've all been behaving oursleves).:)

If anyone wants to call my bet of $100...I'm going to bet that if the Threadloom owner's decided to post some rules...they wouldn't be significantly different than the previous TAZ rules...or the rules most forums abide by.

Including the last "rule" or "guildline" of most forums...which is...the Forum ownership/staff have the final word on anything/everything!;)

The thing is, new members still register here every so often. They may not know they shouldn't post advertisements with their forum in areas they shouldn't.

Very true I agree...this could be a very valid reason for a formal set of TAZ rules.:)

Member "\o/" never mentioned this as part of his/her concern...and member "\o/" has been a TAZ member for 15 months (including 7 months with the current ownership)...and is still here (no banning).:)

I was mostly trying to help member "\o/" understand why things (Threadloom ToS) were different than member "\o/" may have remembered them prior to the new TAZ ownership...especially if member "\o/"...didn't realize the ownership of TAZ had changed.:)

And where can new users find them? Because they’re not under Rules where any sane person would search for them.

With the 2 rules explained above, the only one that may catch someone is the first. The second shouldn't be difficult to follow anywhere.
I doubt a breach of the first rule will result in Thor's hammer being deployed.

If you have a specific question around a post, feel free to ask in the support forum, preferably not in a thread so it can be lost.

And yet YOU continue to provoke, troll, bully and repeatedly argue a question that is relevant to an admin and not YOU.

I'm not sure I fully get your post, but sure does come off as abrasive. Maybe it's best we just leave this thread alone as it's served it's purpose let folks know about the change here at TAZ.
