I have an admin assistant that uses AOL. She also has a website account that she accesses through the browser using webmail.

I was trying to find an easier solution for her within her computer using popmail through outlook or some other email application.

Is this possible? What email application do you recommend that isn't expen$ive?

Why am I asking? I'm on a Mac, she's on a PC. She's on AOL, I'm on cable modem.

She can use Outlook Express or Thunderbird (www.mozilla.org) to access a POP3 account. Both are free. She would just have to connect to AOL before it could connect to the server.

AFAIK AOL don't block POP3 ports, so she should be fine.

She won't, however, be able to access her AOL email through a third-party client.

I think AOL is soon opening up POP3 on their servers for people to get their mail. You'd have to look into it.
