XF license validation has been added to TAZ! XF license holders should validate their licenses here: https://theadminzone.com/license/.

Once validated you will get a spiffy new banner (once Morganna gets around to writing the css for it) and access to download XF resources, which will henceforth be restricted to verified license holders.

This change should mean that even more XenForo resources will be available on TAZ!

When it expires you can continue to use the version available at the time it expired forever if you wish. If a new got to have version comes out then you purchase a renewal to get access to download it.

I'm not going through the thread quoting, but basically this is how it is:-

The ability to verify XF licences is available; so TAZ has made use of it. This is down to a number of people contacting us to say they would be more inclined to

a) Submit resources if they were sure only verified XF users could download them
b) Be more likely to offer support to people asking for help if they knew for certain the people asking were licence holders.

If the ability to verify licences for the other paid software - IPB, WBB, vB - we would offer the same for them too.

Where free software is concerned, it's not an issue as it's freely available to anyone who wants it - without requiring a paid-for licence.

LOL, no it's because IB does not offer it and has no API to do so. Something which I would like to see though.

Well what software they own is a stat. IMO it helps identify people when they post in a specific forum.

Lets say someone asks for help in the XF or vB forum, you have no way of knowing if you are helping someone who is running pirated software.

That's true, but there is no way for public sites to validate vB licenses.

There should, but I can pretty much guarantee there never will be. It isn't something I could see the company having any interest in paying someone to code.
