They are not hackers. They are wannabe anonfags. Just report their twitter and if you happen to know an FBI agent (like me) report this behavior to them. If they've attacked you personally, then contact your local authorities to get a case going as well as IC3.gov to let the FBI know of the internet crimes these children are committing.

As for MyBB, I hope they look into NameCheap's live support or phone support to see if they talked to anyone about the account and allowed them to get in. Maybe these guys got lucky with a dox (and I mean real lucky) and there was information the dox they found that lead them to be able to fill out security questions. This is why I use a password manager and make the recovery questions random letters and symbols and save that into an encrypted folder if by chance my password is ever wrong in my pw manager.

Lucky lucky lil skids. I would be VERY shocked if they actually did get the database but if I was betting man, I'd put $100,000 on red and win. I wish I could be there the day karma came right back with a roundhouse kick right to the jaw. That would make my day...and probably make the next decade for me lol I wish people like this could be wiped off the face of the earth with a push of a button.

In all seriousness, you're right. After their last two "attacks," it's become obvious that these guys are not hackers, they're liars, only helping to prove the low-age claims. Social engineers are simply liars. Kids like these are very good at it. I doubt they have the DB because I know and have seen quite a few real hackers, and these guys are not them.

Dear MyBB users,

Last night our domain name and hosting accounts were compromised by hackers.
Users of MyBB should not be concerned about their own installations. There is nothing to indicate the MyBB software itself contributed to the hacking in any way.

We hope to restore access to all services in the next 12 - 24 hours. At this stage we don't believe our database was compromised, however we recommend users stay vigilant to unauthorized access of their accounts.

Updates:
11:15 AM GMT: We are pleased to say that we have control of the MyBB.com domain again. MyBB.com will be back online shortly, but services won't be available until we have thoroughly assessed what, if any, access the hackers had to our server.

Looks like they're getting back on their feet within a few hours.

Updates:

Thu 31st May @ 2:42 PM GMT: We're currently in the process of taking a snapshot of all of our existing data to begin looking through it for signs of compromise. Over the next 24 hours we'll continue to work towards having parts of the MyBB website accessible again.

Don't worry; we'll be back. At this stage, it's impossible to tell whether they got a dump or not - there will be a full audit to find out information like this.

Keep an eye on the site/Facebook/Twitter for updates.

Wishing these guys all the best! I've just set up my first ever forum on a test domain using myBB, but without the mods, community advice and resources on their site, I can't really do too much. But yeah, for the sake of their business, good luck chaps!

Like I said, I highly doubt they got the database. Looks like they just got lucky with the domain. If they did have access to the database, they would have deleted it after taking it. If they had access to all the other databases they have claimed to have had access too, they would have released those as well like they had promised to their twitter followers and they've yet to do that.

We have control of the domain. We are going through everything with "a fine tooth comb" to see if the hackers have compromised anything, which we are 99.99% sure they haven't, but we want to be 100% sure. Our blog will be back up shortly. In the mean time, you can still visit http://www.mybb.com for a simple page with updates or check out our twitter and facebook.
