Im thinking of creating a forum for the show "Castle" on ABC, in my opinoin anyway, its a great show and I don't think theres any other real sites for it, last time I checked.

Do you think these kinds of sites can get off, and grow and run well?

Yes, they can indeed turn out for the best but you need to be positive that there isn't already a community based on this TV show.

Secondly it's best when the show is actually a popular one with an audience that your site caters to. (An extreme example: a forum for a toddler's television show won't exactly work out wonderfully).

Other than that, I don't see much of a limitation other than the fact that the show might suddenly go off the air.

Even if it goes off air, your community can still thrive if the show has a fan base.

For example my forums is about the MacGyver TV show, which went off air 15 years ago, and I still get new members joining up regularly and the forum is pretty active.

there are other examples of old TV shows having active forums, such as Knight rider

What I really meant was if the show wasn't a hit and went off the air within the first few years, it wouldn't have had time to develop a huge fan-base (unless it was some extremely popular, great show - which, probably wouldn't go off the air in the first place).

A TV show like ER that has been running for over a decade is an example of one that will continue to thrive for years to come, even though it recently aired its final episode.

I Remember a futurama forum or something back when the show first started it took RIGHT off faster than I've ever seen a forum grow. I think they're always a good idea.

Alright thanks for your opinions. I may start it, if I can get the money together for the hosting
