Suggestion Perhaps do something about the antisemitic posters/posts

I know TAZ has been overly welcoming to certain groups of people with specific views over recent years, but if it's at the point where people are allowed to post stuff such as their ridiculous antisemitic George Soros conspiracies, and content by (and in support of) white supremacists freely, I'd say it's at a point where it's gone too far.

Just a free tip.

Well, I can see the leap from enthusing about a platform that seems designed to appeal to the far right trolling, but I’ll admit the leap to anti Semitic views is a bit of a logical leap.

I'm mocking only them, relax. You're fine. I posted a long post about George Soros' garbage past and this OP wanted my post to go, so magically, Zappa went like "oop! That's gone!" just cuz this dude cried about it. It’s stupid.

He is accusing me of things I am not overt about, and Zappa is having way too much fun with his admin powers.

I'm not happy with how Soros is hurting everyone with his billions going to companies and DA's. That is all I f'n said and OP is just crying to mods about it.

No. Unless you've seen the post shut up. It was in browsers thread. It was not political. I simply was trying to get people off MOZILLA, and Firefox.

Ah but it does, with some limits. Forums and communities are a thing we talk about here, and whether a given community is choosing a life of censorship is a matter of debate, especially if it is a venue that could be used alongside a forum to cross promote content.

A platform that sets out to be pro free speech, for example, has some overlaps with forums that claim the same thing and with all the legal debates that ensue, the only difference being scale of user base.

I've explained myself 3 times already that that's not what this is about.

When I posted the content do I think it has components of politics? Yes. Is it ENTIRELY about politics? No. But that's their argument.

One of the more important lessons you'll learn as a community admin is that how you say your point matters as much as what you say.

When someone attacks you, you can respond
- negatively and defensively
- reasonably and from a position of strength

Be grounded in your own sense of confidence and maturity. Be assured in what you're doing. And if others don't quite agree, that's okay -- that's literally the joy of online discussion.


This entire topic is an example that no matter the superior technology of forum software, we ultimately are all held back by the insinuations, poor decision making, immaturity, and foibles of humans.

I rarely reply to threads I've moderated but for reference; a member made a complaint, I reviewed the content and found the embedded video to be unsuitable for these forums. If the OP or anyone else is unhappy with my decision feel free to take it up with the forum owners.
