These days with so many domains in use or parked for ransom you really need to think out of the box. I tend to feed unavailable words into an online thesaurus for alternatives and inspiration.

Some of the best names are held by TM owners in another industry so they're out of play. Also I don't bemoan domain investors, I've been a participant in that space for decades. Unfortunately some price their wares so high that they will retain ownership for a long time to come. It is what it is, I don't lose sleep over it and just make a decision on what's available at a price point that makes sense to me.

Having a descriptive domain name can be beneficial, but an easy to remember name is arguably better. You can try some simple word association games with yourself and some friends to help find catchy alternate names.

Yes, and I’m not entirely convinced the word forum is a liability within the automotive enthusiast market. A community and wide variety of relevant content still fits under such a name in my view, heavily depends on implementation though.

I see your point, but from a URL perspective is regrettably long.

I agree but most people use community when it's a sub domain name such as community.mydomain.com. It works well if you have a website aimed at building a website
