Weird behavior from server

Hoping someone here can shed a bit of light on what is going on with my server before I end up on the phone with Ionos support.

A couple of days ago, my site started playing up, and it seemed to be mostly on my end as my other admins didnt have an issue.
- All the styling went away (white screen with hyperlinks)
- Then got a message saying there was nothing in the folder I was pointing out (main forum folder)
- Then got a bog standard apache front screen (got a bit worried here)
- Could not connect through FTP. No rejection, just no connection.

All this time, working through on my phone refreshing multiple times - all was OK. I asked my other staff and they didnt have a problem. I emptied the caches on both the machine and mobile, same behaviour.

- If i navigate to plesk through the port, it comes up with error code 400. I have to enter https:// in front to access it. Never happened previously and there have been no changes by me to instigate this.

The site came alive again after about 10 minutes. The FTP connection did not.
Even the favicon went wonky.

I have made no server side adjustments recently other than copying/ backing up folders to my local drive through FTP in preparation to tidy up.

After a server restart, FTP came back - but only for a short while.

I'm hosted with Ionos on a decently equipped VPS. I have never used, and checked before I rebooted - even half of the resource.
Cloudflare is enabled.

There was an epic thunderstorm at my house during the initial "outage" and there was a power fluctuation.

Any clues as to what is going on?

Did you check for connectivity to other sites during the outage?

I'd also suggest checking your firewall logs especially as you were downloading files prior to the outage. It could be that your FTP client opened up too many connections causing the firewall to kicked in.

Other sites were not a problem at all. Refreshed them all.

I will check the firewall logs, I think the downloading happened a while before that.

Not quite, apparently another member using chrome is having a similar issue.

At least I can use FTP now.

It might be worth asking if your provider has done anything to cause the server firewall rules to change such as update.
