Anyone playing around with YouTube Channels at all?

I've started a YouTube channel for a local outdoorsy type niche. So far, it is a lot of fun. Beyond the vicious comments that we all know about on YouTube, there is quite the culture and community present within that site. So whether you are doing it for your forums or not, are any of you messing around with having your own channels at all?

If yes, tell us about it and your experience thus far. What is your niche? Are you doing a show of some type?

Today I made my first video where I'm actually in it. I'll go ahead and share it. I doubt that the video is spamming TAZ haha unless The Sandman has changed the forum's niche to hiking in southern Illinois.



I shot the video with a GoPro Hero5 Black. Used Windows Movie Maker to edit it. I have Pinnacle Studio Ultimate but its crap software to be honest, very glitchy. I also have Adobe Premiere Pro CC but it is so advanced that I just cannot figure it out right now. All the music in my video is free too just have to slap some credits in the video description!

I have my Youtube channel but for myself. Mostly I've filmed my trips. I think it is quite popular to do such kind of videos because people love watching other countries and unique stories especially if you do it professionally. For earning money I think trips and different learning content are the most valuable and influential.

I haven't started one yet but my husband is a professional chef and wants to do a channel about cooking really great meals on a budget. Don't know how much of a niche there is for it but we are planning to give it a try.

I want to create a youtube channel but at the same time, I am nervous about doing it. I have so many mixed emotions. I know that it can give you a lot of opportunities, especially if you want to develop in the entertainment industry, but I am scared whether I will be affected by the hate comments. Some viewers are really harsh these days. Every day I spent at least an hour and a half watching videos, and I genuinely enjoy it. Hopefully, I will have the needed courage soon and will be able to start it!

I do programming tutorials on youtube. I don't know if its my niche but my videos take some time to get views. For example this video I made on webservices got like 8 views in the first month then went to 15k views after 2 months and still growing. I plan on starting a SAAS business soon and will link my youtube to my SAAS business and blog so it will be easier to get clients. I also havent taken my youtube channel to the next level with high quality content which I can but it would take more time. I barely put any effort into it and still get around 5k to 10k views on average.

As far as rude comments are concerned I have mostly got positive comments because it all depends on your audience. If your audience is little kids such as from gaming communities then you will most likely get those type of comments, even then you just need to have thick skin. So far I've only got 2 rude comments and it was on a video I didn't put any effort into so it was justified.

Definitely go for it. If you can afford a good camera setup go all out on it! People have been getting more and more into cooking niche since Chef Gordon Ramsay created a channel. I see lot of popular cooking channels.

I did YT videos consistently for only about two months, but life happened and I just stopped. 2,000 subscribers, which isn't great, but for the short time I was uploading I think it's pretty good. I'm planning on making videos again starting tomorrow or Friday.

I don't have large aspirations on YouTube, but I'd like to get at least 5k subs. Arbitrary goal tbh, but I thought that'd be cool. Now that I'm typing this, maybe if I'm consistent I can even get 5k around January or February.

Of course, every YouTuber will say to focus on content and quality and not your sub count, and of course I agree. But the number doesn't detract from the quality I like to make.

Try out Wondershare Filmora. I've been "looking into" starting with youtube for a while and Filmora seemed to be the best mix of simple user interface and actual raw editing power I found. Their mobile apps are also excellent for basic video editing.

Oh, I would definitely love to watch these kinds of videos! I struggle a lot with finding different recipes that are on a budget. Please share his channel's name, when he creates it so that I can try some of his meals.

Most places will have a toxic community but there are some great users on there as well so hopefully, you will get some good comments. I did play around with it a bit before but now I just use YouTube to watch videos.

I run a variety niche channel. Some R/C truck stuff, PC gameplay videos, vlogs, etc. So far, only have 15 subs, and an occasional comment. lol

Most of them on fashion and makeup, unboxing and whats in my handbag
I have watched some with her (for interest only) and i'm sure some of those vloggers are making a good living from Youtube ads, and affiliate sales on Amazon etc.
