I haven't had a chance to download the beta yet, but I'm sure it won't disappoint. The preview they had prior to the beta release showed the UI pretty well and that's the only real difference we'll probably notice.

Actually, CS6 uses the Mercury engine, so it will take advantage of graphics power more fully, along with some major tool improvements such as the new crop tool and more advanced curves.

I didn't test it yet, but I saw some videos about it... and I must admind that what I saw was amazing. Especially selecting objects and moving them to another place just with simple clicks.

Haven't had the chance to download the beta yet either, but knowing Adobe, they won't disappoint.

CS6 is without a doubt the best version so far. Up till beta 6 was made available I had been using cs2 and refused to use the later versions now I won't go back to cs2.

I've read that thread, but I thought you had come across new stuff to share. Is there any justification to upgrade? I'm on CS 5.

I think that is a call only you can make for yourself. There's a big leap from cs2 from what I was using down to performance issues than the cs5 version your using. So, the leap is significantly much bigger for me and the improvements more noticeable.

I use the pen tool and my work consists of mostly vectoring, vector so the improvements from cs2 >> cs6 is far superior. TBH I haven't used much of cs5 so I can't compare or give a comparison between cs5 >> cs6.

It appears they've finally developed an auto-save feature built in.

That will definitely come in handy for some things. However, I open many PSD projects, edit them to try certain things but don't want it saved. Wonder if the auto-save would pose a problem.

I'm sure a revision system is also in place or will come into place should enough people complain. Though I'm positive there's a way to turn it off.

An auto save feature needs to be an optional thing as far as I'm concerned so I would be almost sure, from a user level, it can be disabled.

Indeed. I'll look around online to see if there's any sap who bought the software yet and ask them.
